Services for the Designated Doctor

Professional Exam Services, Inc. was formed for the purpose of assisting Designated Doctors of the state of Texas to perform their examinations for Maximum Medical Improvement, Impairment Ratings, Extent of Injury, Disability, and Return to Work. We also make arrangements for Designated Doctors who order evaluations for functional capacity evaluations, electrodiagnostic studies, psychological, and neuropsychological consultations. We also assist physicians who perform similar evaluations as independent medical exams, and required medical examinations for the state of Texas, the Department of Labor, and for other States of the Union.

Scheduling The Examinations

We coordinate the patient's availability with the physicians or the consultants schedule in order to maximize the time available to perform the exam. Some exams have to be completed within a specified time, in these cases the scheduling becomes very important.

Scheduling Consultations

When the Designated Doctor needs a specialty consultation in order to make a judgment about the patient, we strive to have your case's consultation appointment confirmed the same the day that you have requested the consultant.

Monitoring Progress

We recognize that every examination has a pre-assigned date of completion and needs to be monitored to keep you work in timely compliance with the authority of the examination. We have a computer aided system that informs you on a daily basis (Monday -> Friday) of the number of days your report is taking to become complete. We automatically file for extensions if your consultations take longer than expected, and make you aware of the time limits of your extensions so that you can submit your report timely.

Report Editing - Proofing

Some reports can be very difficult to write in a way that is persuasive while at the same time accurately recording the evidence within the examination. We will never write the report for you, but if requested we have editing and poofing services available that make your report presentable and persuasive.

Submission of Final Reports

We will submit your final report to the requesting authority within 24 hours after you have completed your final draft. We will also when appropriate submit your final report to the patient, and referring physician.

Archiving Your Work

We will archive your final report, and make it available to you and other appropriate parties for the required legal period of time.

Billing the Carrier

We submit the bill to the carrier at the time we submit your final report; there is never an instance that the carrier gets a report without the invoice for your work attached to the report. The fees that you charge are related to what you have designated to us; however, if you would like assistance in bill review we are more than please to help you maximize the best fee for your work. .

Weekly Progress Reports of your Accounts Receivable:

We have a computer aided billing process that keeps you informed on a weekly basis of all reports that have not been completed, as well as all Accounts Receivable that have not yet been paid. We also make disbursements on a weekly basis for the funds that have been paid the previous week.
